Well, it depends:) Of course, 55.50 EUR per ticket is a lot of money and more expensive than a visit to the cinema (without popcorn and drinks ;)). And certainly you can watch shows by more well-known artists for this price – or if you add something more. We understand that.
However, we are running a festival here completely on our own with a lot of heart and soul. We don’t have to finance our living with this festival. Nevertheless, we take some risks. And this despite the fact that we know that many festivals of this size cannot survive economically on their own. Surely you have heard of one or the other festival that had to give up the sails. We think it’s a shame that there are fewer and fewer of these small and fine festivals.
We are therefore happy to present our considerations about the price to you transparently from the beginning. The costs for the festival, without having played a note, amount to a high five-digit amount. One of our club shows cost 28 EUR on the last tour. A price that many have said is very fair for two bands (including support). We were pleased with the point of view.
Based on this, we thought that the ticket price broken down to a band with 11.10 EUR (also for our show) is actually quite fair. From an economic point of view, the festival covers its costs with this price and with the expected visitors. Of course, we would be happy if we could convince more and more of our festival and continue to invest in the continuation and expansion of the festival.
Until we reach the size of Wacken and Co., you will have to make do with a lovingly made local festival with good music. 😉
We are totally up for our own festival. And we really want to play in our hometown and contribute to the local (sub-)culture. And that with national and international acts. In the best case, we will establish the festival permanently.
We love to play at lovingly made festivals with charm – no matter how big or small they are. Our motivation for the festival is that we want to organize everything the way we would like to find it as a band and visitors. That is our claim. And we do everything we can to live up to this claim.
Yes, we will continue the festival. The next date is 15.08.2026.
The Pott of Gold Open Air took place in this form for the first time in 2025. We have already organized festivals in the past. These included the O’Reilly Festival in Gevelsberg and the O’Reilly Open Air in Wetter. We have revived these festivals at the Ennepebogen under the new name Pott of Gold Open Air. We hope that you enjoy the festival and that it will establish itself permanently.
Pott of Gold is a play on words. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow symbolizes the Irish that we bring with us in our hearts. Pott stands for the Ruhr area. It’s a mixture of the rustic and the warm, which is also reflected in the bands. That’s why the beer stands are also called “Trinkhallen” and we affectionately call the helpers “Kumpel”.
First of all, we should find all bands musically good. Not entirely unimportant.
Like the festival itself, the band selection is also a colorful mix. We make a conscious effort to offer a wide range of music, from traditional folk and Irish folk punk to German punk.
The running order will be announced in the run-up to the festival.
Wheelchair users can buy a regular ticket. Upon presentation of the severely disabled person’s pass at the festival entrance, accompanying persons have free admission.
There are currywurst, fries and smashed burgers, also in vegan. We also offer you pizza and crêpes.
In addition to delicious Krombacher Pils for 4 EUR (0.4 l), there will also be a stand where you can taste the whiskey specialties and the Paddyhats whiskey of the Fessler Mühle .
We also offer you freshly tapped Guinness as well as ice-cold Somersby Cider in the varieties Orange Spritz, Blackberry and Apple as well as Somersby Cider Zero (non-alcoholic) in Yuzu & Lemon and Apple.
