In addition to a special show from us, you can expect a colorful mix from the European Celtic rock scene. Tickets are available now.

This is what our visitors say:

Where do you start, it was very familiar and everyone was friendly. The sound was very well tuned and we really had a lot of fun. Prices for food and drinks top. Bought tickets for 2026 directly.

What did you like about the POGOA?

Great selection of music, good organization, not so big, very pleasant atmosphere, personal conversations with the band, not so commercial

What did you like about the POGOA?

Price level for drinks and food as well as the "heart and soul" that went into the preparation and which could be perceived very positively in many places.

What did you like about the POGOA?

Small, familiar, clean, not expensive, the emergency basket for the ladies (I haven't discovered it at any concert or festival yet)

What did you like about the POGOA?

It was familiar and cozy and there was still real handiwork at the stalls and you could taste it. The festival newspaper was also great. Great event!

What did you like about the POGOA?

Actually, almost everything. Particularly noteworthy is the cider and Guinness stand.

What did you like about the POGOA?

The separate toilets. In addition, the area was very manageable, but still large enough for the many visitors. Great decoration, fair prices, safe feeling and nice people. 50l free beer and great sound. An all-round success!

What did you like about the POGOA?

The decoration is made with so much love! You can see that!
The sound is great, the stage too. People are awesome! The pizza was great and at a fair price. The beer tastes good. And the toilets are great too! It's great that there are period products.

What did you like about the POGOA?

Decoration, atmosphere, no overpriced prices. There was music for everyone.

What did you like about the POGOA?

''It was an all-round successful festival. It was all done with a lot of love. I felt total. A great atmosphere and only sympathetic people. The food selection was perfect. A fantastic line-up. I'm already looking forward to next year."

General questions

Is the pot of gold expensive?

Well, it depends:) Of course, 55.50 EUR per ticket is a lot of money and more expensive than a visit to the cinema (without popcorn and drinks ;)). And certainly you can watch shows by more well-known artists for this price – or if you add something more. We understand that.

However, we are running a festival here completely on our own with a lot of heart and soul. We don’t have to finance our living with this festival. Nevertheless, we take some risks. And this despite the fact that we know that many festivals of this size cannot survive economically on their own. Surely you have heard of one or the other festival that had to give up the sails. We think it’s a shame that there are fewer and fewer of these small and fine festivals.

We are therefore happy to present our considerations about the price to you transparently from the beginning. The costs for the festival, without having played a note, amount to a high five-digit amount. One of our club shows cost 28 EUR on the last tour. A price that many have said is very fair for two bands (including support). We were pleased with the point of view.

Based on this, we thought that the ticket price broken down to a band with 11.10 EUR (also for our show) is actually quite fair. From an economic point of view, the festival covers its costs with this price and with the expected visitors. Of course, we would be happy if we could convince more and more of our festival and continue to invest in the continuation and expansion of the festival.

Until we reach the size of Wacken and Co., you will have to make do with a lovingly made local festival with good music. 😉

What was your motivation for the festival?

We are totally up for our own festival. And we really want to play in our hometown and contribute to the local (sub-)culture. And that with national and international acts. In the best case, we will establish the festival permanently.

We love to play at lovingly made festivals with charm – no matter how big or small they are. Our motivation for the festival is that we want to organize everything the way we would like to find it as a band and visitors. That is our claim. And we do everything we can to live up to this claim.

Does the festival take place every year?

Yes, we will continue the festival. The next date is 15.08.2026.

The Pott of Gold Open Air took place in this form for the first time in 2025. We have already organized festivals in the past. These included the O’Reilly Festival in Gevelsberg and the O’Reilly Open Air in Wetter. We have revived these festivals at the Ennepebogen under the new name Pott of Gold Open Air. We hope that you enjoy the festival and that it will establish itself permanently.

Why is the festival called Pott of Gold?

Pott of Gold is a play on words. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow symbolizes the Irish that we bring with us in our hearts. Pott stands for the Ruhr area. It’s a mixture of the rustic and the warm, which is also reflected in the bands. That’s why the beer stands are also called “Trinkhallen” and we affectionately call the helpers “Kumpel”.

How do you choose the bands for the line-up?

First of all, we should find all bands musically good. Not entirely unimportant.

Like the festival itself, the band selection is also a colorful mix. We make a conscious effort to offer a wide range of music, from traditional folk and Irish folk punk to German punk.

What is the running order?

The running order will be announced in the run-up to the festival.

I am a member of the press and would like to be accredited. How does that work?

  • On our contact page we have deposited a form for accreditation. Please fill it in and send it off. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

What is the best way to get there?

  • The total number of parking spaces is limited. Therefore, our recommendation to use public transport remains. The Ennepebogen is easy to reach with it. If you want to travel by car, we have listed the nearby parking facilities and the information we have here.
    • Großer Markt car park: no parking regulations, but there is still a senior citizens’ fair in the pedestrian zone
    • Gevelsberg main station: due to a construction site, only half of the parking area is available
    • Lüsebrink car park: max. 2 hours
    • Kaufland car park: subject to charge, pay attention to opening hours!

Is there a festival magazine?

  • yes! Our festival magazine is called POGOA Herald and you can get it for free on the festival grounds. It’s best to take it with you directly at the entrance!
