The mettermalt® The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats Whiskey is a special bottling of the fesslermill1396 distillery together with the Irish folk punk band The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats.
Breathtaking energy and traditional folk, wrapped in a modern punk garb, result in a unique band symbiosis that is transferred to the audience from the very first second – the seven-piece band from Gevelsberg has been exporting their passionate love of Irish music to the world since 2011. With their Irish folk punk, The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats deliver an extraordinary band sound that creates the perfect atmosphere everywhere. In addition, the band already plays at legendary festivals, such as the Wacken Open Air or the Irish Folk Open Air in Poyenberg. With over 100 million views on YouTube, over 50 million music streams and several album chart placements, pave the band’s promising future path. In keeping with the new album “Wake the Rebels” and the associated 2023 tour, there is an exclusive mettermalt whiskey, in which the label has been adapted to the new album cover.
The basis of the whiskey consists of barley malt from the region, which was ground with millstones in the in-house over 625-year-old Fessler mill according to old craftsmanship on the grist mill from 1870. The grain is distilled several times in the distillery and then stored in the distillery’s warehouse. The storage of this whiskey took place in a Scottish whiskey barrel, as well as a new American white oak barrel. Local water from the local alwa spring is used for the whiskey, and the production process is climate-neutral thanks to its own hydropower and photovoltaics. The fesslermill1396 distillery has already won several awards and was only named the best whiskey distiller of the year 2023 at the state awards this year.
